Zeng Guo Cheng in a recent interview with the media, revealed his parenting style.

Zeng, the host of Don’t Forget The Lyrics has two kids, a four-year-old son and an eight-month-old daughter. When asked if he intends to expand the brood, he jokingly replied, “That will be a way of thinking, not doing.”

In the interview, Zeng cutely remarked that his son is his number one fan and would look for the television remote control each time he was clamouring for Zeng. He tries to take as much time off his schedule to bring his kids out on the weekend for hiking, swimming, and cycling activities.

While he tries to spend as much time with them as possible, he clarifies that he does not overly dote on his them. Spare the rod and spoil the child is a mantra that the he believes in. It seems like his son would wet his pants just by looking at his stern face. “Sometimes he forgets about things quickly. After he receives a beating from me, he will go back to being happy and cheeky again…My son has a high threshold level to such things.”

With regards to his marriage, Zeng makes it a point to communicate with his wife daily and chats with her for one to two hours every night. He shares his current work situations while his wife updates him about the household matters. He jokingly remarked, “She only talks about cooking, and that is most unbearable for me!”

Editor’s Note: Prehaps instead of beating his child, Zeng should try stern verbal reinforcements, time outs or other more positive discipline strategies? What do you guys think?
