Dr Ong Eng Keow

A worried mum wrote in looking for a recommened PD (Paediatrician) in Singapore to treat her two year olds persistent cough. We posted the question on Facebook, to gather what all of you had to say. Turns out that the most popular PD was Dr Terrence Tan from Mt Alvernia hospital.

Anyway, here is the entire list of what our helpful readers had to say:

Petrina Goh – Dr Terence Tan @ Mt Alvernia.

Jenn Chan – Dr Ngiam @ Singapore Baby & Child – Gleneagles Hospital.

Alinda Lim- Dr Ong Eng Keow @ SBCC Thomson Hospital.

Jaz Teo- Yeah. I recommend Dr. Terence Tan as well. He’s fabulous!

Denise Tay Chia Chia- Dr Terence Tan is good but waiting time is SUPER LONG! Can wait till 4 hrs plus… =(

Christine Foo- Dr Terence Tan @ MT Alvernia is good.

Farry Kat- Kid’s clinic. Doc Lilian Lim is good.

Andy Ang- Dr Simon Ng at Mount Alvernia.

Azilah Zainal- Dr Cecilia Lee @ Paediatric & Family Medical Centre in Tampines St 11.

Pouline Toh- Dr. Heng Siok Kheng from Children’s Clinic at Toa Payoh.

Felicia Kris Wong- Dr Koh at SBCC in Ang Mo Kio…but call for appointment so that u don’t need to wait so long…he is very good.

Amie Chen- Dr Lilian Lim from Kid’s Clinic @ Rivervale Mall.

Jasmine Hoon- Maybe can try Dr Loke from Baby & Child Medical Group at Tampines? Waiting time is ard 1-1.5hrs.. Must call before going to make sure she’s around before going.

Pearlyn Lee- Yes. I would recommend Dr Koh from S’pore Baby & Child Clinic at Blk 726 Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 #01-4156. He is really good. You can call the clinic at 6456 8874 to make appt.

Lim Jyh Ren – Dr Heng Siok Kheng from Children’s Clinic at Toa Payoh Central is good.

Denise Tay Chia Chia- Dr Terence at Kinder Clinic no appt can be made except vaccinations.. So I don’t recommend that unless severe condition & clinic closes at 4.30pm. Can try Tampines st 81, Baby & Child Clinic, both the docs there are gd. They open till 8.30pm – 9pm.

Jess Loh- I bring my children to Kidslink. they have a few branches all over Singapore.

Selina Ang - My son sees Dr Ngiam from Singapore Baby’s Clinic @ GlenE for respiratory related symptoms… waiting time so far is reasonable. Pretty detailed doctor. My nephew also sees him.

Sim Shilin- Dr Ong Eng Keow @ SBCC TMC.

Loi Mei Lin Elaine- I believed TCM Traditional Massage Therapy and Pure Essential Oil, although take times to proof it but we have to bear with it and patience. Yu Guo Chinese Physician Acupuncture & Physiothereapy Pte Ltd located near to Kembangan MRT or Eucalyptus Peppermint Pure Essential Oil.

Huey Ling Cheong - Kidslink at Bedok blk 216 is good. Dr Loke at tampines baby and child clinic is also good, but waiting time is very long for the morning session.. Evening one is faster.

Shileen Ng- I think trying some changes in the daily food intake, and teaching him the correct way of breathing plently of fluid.

- plain porridge (best)

too bland for him, u may wanna try giving a drop or 2 of soya sauce.

- breathing techniques is impt as it opens the airways.

breath deep & only thru nose.

Geraldine Ho – Go to Thomson Medical look for Dr. Ang Poon Liat Paediatric Centre. He is a senior ped. My children often cough and other ped do not work. Worth a try.

Winnie Kwa - You can try Dr Edmund Koh which was from TMC, now at The Family Clinic at Blk 18 Jalan Membina ( opp Tiong Bahru Plaza). He is very good with children.

Syasha Sata – Dr Terence Tan at Mt Alvernia.. Highly recommended but it comes with a price :) Ka-ching!

Sun Hongfa – I tried Dr Ngiam, his price is very steep.

Belinda Lim - Dr M.P Ng at MT E 11th flr. Dr Terrence Tan at MT A but always very long queue. At least 3hrs unless serious. Dr M.P Ng is good! he can tell u the sickness takes hw long to recover and it wks.. my girl always gt cough, flu sometimes worst it turn to bronchitis.. u might consider him.

Teo Fanny - I’m not sure if ENT (Ear Nose Throat) Specialists sees 2yos… but this doctor is very good when it comes to persistent cough… u can call and ask them.. they are very friendly.

Wilmer Clinic Pte Ltd, 50 Armenian St… Read More, #01-01 Singapore 179938, Contact : 63383888

Silvia Ho - Dr Terence Tan in Mt Alvernia.

Mary-Ann Yeo – Hi, someone recommended me Dr. Terence Tan too but the waiting time is always very long. So I consulted his colleague from the same clinic Dr. Lee Chien Yee and I have never looked back since. She is a wonderful doctor who has been treating 3 of my kids (17mths, 5 yrs & 9 yrs old) for many years. My oldest has asthma & my 2 other kids have … Read More sensitive airways. My oldest was hospitalised twice for bronco-pneumonia and Dr. Lee was the one who diagnosed and treated her condition. I always go to her when the GP’s medication do not work for my kids.

My kids have been seeing Dr MP Ng, 11th floor Mt E. He is good, and my kids always recovers after seeing him, unlike a couple of times when we tried to save some money and see a GP.

I’d also recommend Dr Terence Tan who treated my daughter. Yes, waiting time is long…

I have been seeing Dr Vella from SBCC @ AMK since young. And now I bring my kids to see him. He’s really 2 thumbs up!

  4. Dawn says:

I recommend Dr Ong @ SBCC at Thomson too. He treated my sis in law’s son persistant cough when he was around 9 months old. An now he’s fully recovered. He is friendly, careful and gives good baby caring advise and tips. But have to wait super long..

Another doc who saw him before Dr Ong diagnosed him as bronchitis and got him to stay at hospital for almost a week. This Dr also gave my boy antibiotics when he was around 2 weeks old, and sucked mucus from his nose. Am now still wondering if both cases the treatment methods were called for. =(

  5. Wendy Lim says:

When we were still in S’pore, my son saw Dr. Ong from Aglow at United Square and Dr. Vella at Singapore Baby and Child (AMK). They are both fantastic!

If we move back to S’pore, we’ll definitely choose these two doctors again for my son and my soon-to-be-born daughter.

  9. Andrea says:

Dr Oh from Kids Clinic @ Bishan is fantastic! She’s very smiley & good with the kids, patient with all my questions & even gives her handphone no. for any urgent assistance that I may require.

Dr Sim @ Elias Mall (Pasir Ris Baby & Child)

    • JJLow says:

      Hi Doreen,

Dr Sim @ Elias is good? Are the charges reasonable? I just moved here with two kids & hoping to find a reliable PD in the east.

      Thanks.

  11. cherrie says:

Dr Koh Poh Kian from SBCC in Ang Mo Kio is fantastic! One look at my son, he knows that he can’t breathe poperly, whereas other PD said he was ok, just simple allergy. Strongly reccomend but difficult to get him at times/

I’ll recommend Dr Heng from Children’s Clinic @ TPY.. she’s good with all those cough/ breathing problems etc.. My girl was suffering from Bronchilitis @4mths old. and a visit with Dr Heng makes me feel much better.. she’s a very nice lady and she nv fails to remember her patients.
And she never make u spent un-necessary money~ she’ll ask and never force u to do the test. she also care to explain if time permits (sometimes it’s so over crowded).

  15. Giselle says:

Dr Janice Wong from Thomson Paediatric Centre @ Novene Medical Centre! She’s friendly and nice. Specialises in child development, so if you have concerns about your child’s development can go and see her. She also does vaccinations and normal cough and cold cases. OCBC CDA card can get 10% off also
