hi, i’m joycelyn & i had just given birth for 2mth plus baby girl & planning to have another baby boy 2 years down the road… but is there any specific food or things to do in order to get a baby boy???
Hi Joycelyn,
I’m unintentionally saw this comment, I had 2 girls, planning for my 3rd baby boy. Could u pls advice me the methol or the kits that u tried, success?
Hi Jocelyn,
There are a few theories that might increase your chances of having a baby boy. But we must reiterate..these are all theories, they have not been scientifically proven.
1) Shettles method
To have a male offspring, you should time intercourse to as close to ovulation as possible. Your best bet is 24 hours before ovulation. Prior to intercourse, there should have been abstinence of 3-4 days.
Penetration should be through rear entry, to ensure that sperms are deposited above the neck of the cervix, which is more alkaline, thus more suitable for male sperms then female sperms.
2) Gender selection kits
There are some kits that you can buy over the internet. They comprise of some ovulation predictor test kits aided by application of a vaginal douche.
Myths such as choice of diet, sleeping positions are exactly that, myths. They have no scientific basis at all!
Can a baby drink water? My baby is about 4 week old. Although there are numerous article that mentioned that babies should not drink water (becoz they may replace the milk or contains no nutrients), but they have not specifically mentioned the amount. Apparently, this had led to many arguments and confusions with my wife vs my mother. Thanks for the info.
How much is too much?
My in law love to give fresh fruit juice to my 18mths daughter. Morning 5oz then late afternoon another 5oz. Is this acceptable? I’m thinking that too much Vitamin C will become toxic. Is it true?

Dear doctor,
My daughter is now 3 yrs old, I plan to have a second one, but my period is irregular, I have try it for about 6 months but no good news yet, what should i do to have more chances to conceive again.
Hi, my son will be 3yrs old by the end of March and about 3weeks ago, he developed these “quirky” habits that seem to multiply.
1st he started with pulling his t-shirt down the front and I thought it was just a bad habit. That lessened as he started blinking his eyes more and that graduated to starring wide-eyed for a few seconds at othing and blinking hard after that. I noticed that when he’s concentrating on something, he blinks more, but now, the latest “quirk” is scratching his face and hard! The pulling on his t-shirt has lessened while the other “quirks” take precedent. I’m scheduled to see a neurologist at NUH on the 18th Mar ‘09.
1.What should I expect from this visit?
2. What should I ask the doc?
3. Will this ever end?
Thank you.

Hi, I have been trying for a second child for 2 years. Both my tubes were found to be blocked. I have my fibroids removed 6 months ago. Is IVF the only way to get pregnant? Is TCM recommended as an alternative?
I’m 1 1/2mths pregnant. This is my 2nd pregnancy. My first pregnancy was very smooth as I don’t have much nausea but just felt bloated and tired.
Doctor gave me Duphaston 10mg to consume for at least 3 weeks as he said I’m having irregular period since young, so to play safe of not getting miscarriage. But my first pregnancy is ok and I didn’t consume the Duphaston. I’m kind of worried as there an article mentioned :- ” (Misuse and overuse of progesterone can lead to a number of side effects including fetal death and spontaneous abortion (more so in the first three months of gestation), musculanisation of female fetus (such as unwanted hair on face), birth defects in babies such as cleft palate and heart defects. Therefore in the United States, the use of progesterone during “known or suspected pregnancy” is banned. And in March 2008 it’s also banned in UK )
Secondly, it’s In women, progesterone is responsible for the development of a healthy womb lining (endometrium) that is necessary for pregnancy. Will it cause any difficulty when giving birth as the womb lining is thicken!? My first child was born smoothly without epidural and within 2-3hrs only..Should I take it or not !? It’s there any side effect !?

Have been more than 30 days, my menses did not resume. I am very worry as I am still love to have one more kid. Please advise
Ideally a couple would want to wait 20 to 40 months between pregnancies, with the earliest interval being nine months after the first delivery. Eighteen months is considered optimal by many.

Hi Dr Dana
I have a 27 months old girl, she’s very intelligent but she has kinda of violence behavior towards other children. she will attack (pinch, pull or slap) children that are around her. This problem started when she about 20months. Now she is attending playgroup for the past two weeks but she was make to sit away from the rest. I pretty upset about that but I know there no other choice to prevent her from hurting others.
I very very lost please give me some advise on this.
Hope to hear from you soon
Thanks
